{"id":3514,"date":"2025-10-14T10:23:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T01:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/phoenixprogramlp.hiroshima-u.ac.jp\/?p=3514"},"modified":"2025-10-14T10:23:02","modified_gmt":"2025-10-14T01:23:02","slug":"the-34th-short-field-visit-was-held","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/phoenixprogramlp.hiroshima-u.ac.jp\/en\/the-34th-short-field-visit-was-held\/","title":{"rendered":"The 34th Short Field Visit was held."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The 34th Short Field Visit was conducted for first- and second-year students on February 17\u201318, 2025 (Reiwa 7), during which participants visited the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) and Chiyoda Technol Corporation.<\/p>\n<p>During the JAEA tour, they visited the Tokai region and learned about the JAEA&#8217;s risk communication efforts following the accident at the Tokyo Electric Power Company&#8217;s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. They also studied the capabilities required of leaders in the field of radiation disaster recovery. Furthermore, at the Nuclear Emergency Assistance and Training Center in Hitachinaka City, they deepened their understanding of the systems in place for radiation emergencies. Additionally, at the Oarai Nuclear Engineering Institute, they learned about the purposes and principles behind the construction of three different types of reactors.<\/p>\n<p>At Chiyoda Technol Corporation, they learned the principles of radiation measurement using glass badges and observed the actual sites where these badges are used for dose measurement, as well as the assembly process.
