The 207th RIRBM Seminar was held on February 1, 2018
A seminar on the Medical Treatment of Acute Radiation Syndrome was held on February 1st, 2018. It was organized jointly by the Phoenix Leader Education Program and the RIRBM as the 13th PLEP seminar and the 207th RIRBM Seminar. The speaker was Ms. Carol J. IDDINS, MD., Associate Director, REAC/TS at ORAU, USA.
The Seminar was opened by Dr. Hiroshi Yasuda, a program member of the PLEP. Professor Iddins began her talk by explaining the relationship that exists between Acute Radiation Syndrome (ARS) and radiation exposure. Subsequently, the seminar closed with an explanation of several ARS patient reports and their treatment.
Following the seminar, there was an active discussion among participants, including the PLEP students, HU researchers and other attendees. It was a great opportunity for all participants to learn about ARS and its treatment.
