Phoenix Leader Education Program (Hiroshima Initiative) for Renaissance from Radiation Disaster (at the Organization of the Leading Graduate Education Program) is accepting high-quality students from around the world who will become future Phoenix Leaders.

[Important Notice]
Please note that depending on the circumstances of COVID-19, applicants may not be able to enter Japan before October 1st, or applicants may face difficulties upon entry.

  • Due to border enforcement measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 imposed by the Japanese government, individuals arriving in Japan via any of the countries/regions which is subject to the entry ban will be denied entry to Japan. Until the ban is lifted, The applicants will receive online admission to the university and take online courses.
  • Due to the border enforcement measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 imposed by the Japanese government, the applicants may be required to be quarantined at a hotel etc. for 14 days following the day applicants arrive in Japan.

 Regarding these matters, please be sure to check the latest updates of the border enforcement measures in relation to COVID-19 and get prepared ahead of time.

 For the Radiation Disaster Medicine Course (a 4-year program)
 For the Radioactivity Environmental Protection Course (a 5-year program)
 For the Radioactivity Social Recovery Course (a 5-year program)

8:30am on December 10 (Thu) to 17:00 on December 17 (Thu), 2020

First Selection
(Screening of the application documents)

The result shall be announced on February 3 (Wed), 2021

Second Selection
(Oral Examination)

February 27 (Sat), 2021 
At Kasumi Campus, Hiroshima University 
*The online oral examination (via web conference system) shall be offered to the applicants who currently reside outside Japan.
*The online oral examination (via web conference system) shall be also offered to the applicants who currently reside inside Japan but have difficulty to visit the university due to the effect of COVID-19.

Notification of Results

The result shall be announced at 10 a.m. on April 9 (Fri), 2021 (JST) 

Qualifications for Application
Applicants must confirm their qualification for application in the admission guide and determine whether they need the preliminary evaluation.  For those individuals who take the preliminary evaluation for application qualification, the required documents must be submitted by 17:00 on November 5 (Thu), 2020.

a) Submit an “Information Sheet” to Phoenix Leader Education Program Office
b) Consult with a primary adviser in “11. The list of the program members” in the application guide or internet website to see if the program and the research content match his/her expectation (Submit an “Information sheet” and a “Research Plan” to the adviser before the consultation)
c) Receive an approval from the adviser before applying to a graduate program.
