A special seminar was held on December 14 and 15, 2023, inviting Dr. Jacques Lochard from France.

Dr. Jacques Lochard is a former vice- chair of the main committee of ICRP (International Commission on Radiological Protection), a visiting professor at Hiroshima University, and a professor at Nagasaki University.

In the seminar, the professor lectured on the “Ethos Program” that he has been working on to rebuild the communities of the affected residents after the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident.

In addition, the professor explained how risk communication should be based on the experience gained from the support activities called “Fukushima Dialogue” in Fukushima Prefecture after the TEPCO’s Fukushima Daiichi NPP accident in 2011.

During the overall discussion, a very interactive question and answer session was conducted beyond the closing time of the class.
