The Phoenix Leader Education Program held a completion ceremony on September 18, 2026, for two program graduates.

First of the completion ceremony, Program Director Hitoshi Okamura delivered the opening congratulatory remarks. In his remarks, he encouraged the graduates to further develop the interdisciplinary knowledge and skills they had gaind through the program, as well as the networks they had built, and to continue aiming to become global leaders.

The ceremony continued with remarks from the graduates, who expressed their gratitude for the many learning opportunities provided by the program and for the extremely fruitful experience they have had in the program. They also expressed their gratitude to the faculty members—particularly their primary academic advisors—as well as their lab members, friends, and family.

The completion ceremony took place in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, attended by the students’ academic advisors, current program students, and friends, and concluded with heartfelt applause by participants.

Based on the interdisciplinary and specialized knowledge gained through the program, graduates will aim to become global leaders in the field of radiation disaster recovery.
