On December 8th and 9th, 2022, we invited Dr. Jacques Lochard from France, and he delivered some lectures.

Dr. Lochard is a former Vice-Chair of the Main Commission of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP), and he is also a visiting professor of Hiroshima University and a professor of Nagasaki University.

In his lectures, Dr. Lochard talked about the risk communication based on his experience gained from the Ethos Program after the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident and the Fukushima Dialogue activities in Fukushima Prefecture after the TEPCO’s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident.

During the discussion portion, there was a lively and interactive Q&A session that extended past the closing time.
