Special lecture was provided by Dr. Jacques Lochard.

 On November 4, 2025, we welcomed Dr. Jacques Lochard from France to give special lectures.

 Dr. Lochard is a former vice-chair of the main committee of the ICRP (International Commission on Radiological Protection), and is currently as a visiting professor at Hiroshima University and Nagasaki University.

In the lecture, Dr. Lochard talked about his experiences with the “Ethos Program” aimed at community revitalization for residents affected by the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident, as well as the outcomes of a dialogue gatherings named “Fukushima Dialogue” following the Tokyo Electric Power Company Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident and the importance of dialogue in community rebuilding. The themes for the three lectures are as follows.

・Risk communication in the recovery phase after a nuclear accident: the contribution of the co-expertise process

・The Identification, Diagnosis, Prospective, and Action (IDPA) method for facilitating dialogue between stakeholders

・The Fukushima Dialogue: overview and main lessons

 Active question-and-answer sessions followed each lecture, providing a very fruitful learning opportunity for the students.
